Last year, some friends of ours had a brand new baby at the Providence Love Feast on Christmas Eve. I thought to myself, could there be a better Christmas present. At that moment, I looked forward to the day that we would have our own little baby at the Love Feast. Only God knew that it would be the very next year. Before we headed to the Love Feast, we had Christmas Eve dinner with Luke's family. Yum Yummy!
Luke's family has been going to the Love Feast for years and I first went for our first Christmas together. I loved it. We sing Christmas Hymns, read scripture, and listen to people in the church perform different music. It's saturated with tradition from the Pastor's family always lighting the Christ candle, eating the honey buns and drinking the cider, and Pastor Horner always playing his guitar for Silent Night while we're all lighting our candles. It's wonderful and I look foward to bring Isaac, and all our other children (as long as we live in Raleigh) to theLove Feast. Here are some pics from the evening. Here's Isaac getting his Christmas Eve bath! And Luke getting Isaac ready to go!Isaac's got his candle ready to be lit. He actually slept the whole time. Getting our honey buns and cider. The youth serve it every year. We Light the candles, and raise them up for the last verse of Silent Night. I'm usually crying pretty good by this point. The only light in the room is the candle light. It's beautiful. Here's a family picture we took afterwards. Aren't we festive! After the Love Feast, we come home, set up our little bed under the Christmas tree (a tradition we started last year) and watch A Charlie Brown Christmas.
It was very special to have Isaac with us this year. We couldn't wait for Christmas Morning.
