Memorial Day!

Luke and I had a super Memorial Day Weekend. Our great friends, Scott and Kelly Barclay came and spent the WHOLE weekend with us and it was super fun. We cooked together, laughed together, went to church, El Rodeo, and you know Luke and I love El Rodeo. We were going to take a one night camping trip at Umstead Park but it was just too hot, so loving the AC, We stayed indoors and cooked out...on the George Foreman!
On Monday, we made waffles and after brakfast, headed over to our apartment pool, which was LOCKED! What in the world! Who locks the pool on Memorial Day. But, the people who are inside the pool already said that they had to climb over. Well, Kelly and I are both shorties and the gate came up to about our shoulders. So my wonderful husband went back to the apartment to get my step stool that I use in the kitchen. We climbed our way over and in the course of about 2 1/2 hrs at the pool, about 15 other people benefited from the stool as well. Some of which were over the age of 45ish. We wondered how they would get out after we went home, WITH our stool. It was a great time and Rockie got tanned and of course Luke got burned (he HATES gooey lotions.) We were too busy and having fun for Luke and I to take any pics of the weekend, so here are some pics us at random times with the Barclays.

That Missy Girl!

In February of 2006, Luke "surprised" me with a new dog. (I had said that I didn't want one). Those of you who were there know how "surprised" I really was. But in the end, we kept her. We love our Missy girl. So I though I'd make tribute to her. We still really miss Molly Girl (she really was the perfect dog) but Missy has found a place in our hearts. Here a bunch of pictures of her!. She's a Jack Russel mix. She short and stout with big flappy ears.
Missy the mountain dog! Her first snow.
Her first Christmas with us! She likes Luke more than me!
"Ughh" "What's that Missy girl!"
And she LOVES to snuggle anywhere she can, with us, in her beds, in the dirty laundry, under the beds, or the blanket that fell off of the bed overnight. She's a lazy dog, a feisty dog and every night she has a "firecracker" where for no reason at all, she starts sprinting from the living room to the bedroom about 20 times before she stops. And don's get too close to her if she doesn't know you because she'll snap at you, then she'll like you, but then she'll forget she likes you and snap at you again. Unless, of course, your Daniel Mehaffie, then she'll just pee all over herself when she sees you! We love our Missy girl!!! Picture Perfect Timing!

Wedding and Reunion

This weekend began our weekend of weddings. This wedding was particulary great because it was also a reunion. We saw people there that we hadn't seen for YEARS! I think the longest was 7 years. It was so great to catch up with so many people. It was also a great time to catch up with the people that live one town over but don't get to talk to often. The wedding was at a beautiful golf club and it was an absolutley perfect day for a wedding.

Here's the happy couple! And check out this view!!!

Luke and I had a great time and Luke actually danced with me ALOT!!! it was fun.

Being at another wedding and hearing again what marriage is really all about and hearing them exchange their vows, I think is an encouragement to all married couples and serves as a reminder of love, faithfulness and committment.

Not to mention my honey looked GREAT!!!

Mutter's Day Celebray

Well, I think this is my second post ever...Sorry. Here is a photo of mum's day (we call her Mutee or Mute, pronounced "Moot" for short). In case you are wondering, it is the German word for "Mother" but her real name is Sharon Mehaffie. We ended up going to Outback for some dinner, b/c she is a big fan of the "Alice Spring's". We all (my dad) chipped in and bought her a digital camera for her to have during the summer. Here is the first photo it took:

What a nerd that guy was! Here is one of all of us:

So, the night was fun and afterwards, we went back to the rent's house and watched home movies...always fun. Right now, Rockie and I are sad b/c bothe Dad and Mom left yesterday for about THE WHOLE SUMMER to go to Santa Cruz, CA where they lead a Campus Crusade summer project. At the time of this writing, they are traveling through Arkansas (what did Tenne see?) and Oklahoma (my birth state). Mom is really excited about having her bike out there with her. We will miss both of them for the summer, but we have a lot going on so hopefully it will go by fast. Anyway, on behalf of the young Mehaffie's, I want to thank you for reading this and being curious about what is going on in our lives. Please leave a comment so we know what is up with you! -Luke

We haven't written anything in a long time. Sorry. We have had a lot of fun things happening this month. so super fun that we haven't had time to write all about it. We promise that we'll try harder to keep updated! Luke, especially promises that he'll do his part as well! HaHa!

So this weekend begins our summer of weddings; we have about one every month until november, except for september but that's our anniversary month. First up, Daniel Shrader's wedding. I bought a new dress and everything! Weddings are fun!
