Halloweens Past

I'm always amazed at how much history Luke and I have and how much fun we have together. Check out some costumes from past Halloweens.
This one was Halloween 2000(ish) at ECU. We were our characters from Gundam Wing. (ask me later what that show was).

This was taken in 2001 I think. I was Luke and Luke was dressed as a lady! HA! that's his mom's dress, which she still has!!!Fast forward many years......Our first married Halloween. The Flash and Wonder Woman. We made these ourselves and we were quite proud of them.

This was last year. A little fairy and an Irishman. We also made these. Except for the wings, I bought those.

And we just can't leave The One out.

As for this year...... it's a mystery.

Blessings....

The Lord provided once again! Luke and I had he honor of having another baby shower this weekend. We are so blessed with the people that God has placed in our lives. Meg Blinson and Tiffany Stiling hosted this shower for us!! We had a great time eating a yummy cookie cake, playing games and chatting. One of the games was the toilet paper roll where you pull off as much as you think my belly is. Tiffany came the closest. We had a great time laughing and talking about all our baby's. I really had a great time. Thanks Meg & Tiff!! And thanks to all who came to celebrate with us!!! I've put pictures below!

Another Wedding for the Weekend!!!

Our second wedding last weekend was a friend and co-worker, Heidi and her new husband Evan. This was a beautiful outdoor wedding at the Yankee Plantation in Greenville. It was pretty cold but other than that, it was beautiful!!! Luke and I got to see people from our church when we were in college. This was also a reunion wedding. I got to hang out with some of the girls that were in youth group when I was a youth leader there. I hadn't seen some of them in a while and it was soooooo great to be able to spend some time with them. We also had a chance to see Skip and Deb Cummings. They are like parents to me and anytime that I get to spend with them is just a treat. Everyone had a great time and they just danced the night away!!!! Weddings are fun! And hopefully this will be the last time that we have 2 in one weekend. What an adventure!!! I've put more pictures of the wedding below.

Wedding Weekend Part 1

This past weekend, we had two weddings to attend. How fun!!! The first was Jason and Becca Redmond. We know Becca from college and from Providence. What a great time it was. It was one of those reunion weddings. We saw some old friends from college that we haven't seen in a while. It was a beautiful wedding and so much fun and they danced the night away. Here are some more pics from the wedding.

LifeClass Social!

Luke and I are so blessed to have found a family at Providence. It's so big that's it's easy to slip through the cracks there but God has provided us with a small community of believers to be a part of.

On Friday night, they had a small Baby Celebration for Luke, baby, and I. What fun. Potluck dinners are always great because of all the different foods and all the fellowship is fun. We just don't get too much time to talk before and after class on Sundays.

The best part of the night was that all the lights went out, so everything we did was done by flashlight and candle light. We played a great baby jeopardy game that was alot harder than I anticipated and the baby picture guessing game. This one was super hard but so fun. Here are the pics that we used and we got guessed the fastest and easiest. Oh yeah, the lights came back on just as the last few of us were leaving. Check out the slide show below for pictures of our night in the dark.

Thanks everyone for a really fun night!!!!

Date Night In

My Sweet Husband. We were going to go out for our date night last week but then Luke decided that since we were going to the Fair, we should save the money and eat in. I was alittle bummed because I enjoy eating out for our dates but I totally understood why. But then I got home to this cute little set up on our porch.
He's so sweet. This was definetly more romantic than eating out. And Luke ended it with a dance under our sparkling lights. I love that Luke!!!!

What Progress!!!

Only 6 more weeks until we meet our sweet little one! Here I am at 33 Weeks. So exciting!!! And boy has that belly popped. There's nothing like being 8 months pregnant to clear your persepective on your pre-baby body image.

Here's some nursery progress. This is what our guest bedroom looked like before/during the nursery transition. (I'm alittle ashamed to show this picture)

AH! What chaos!!! Here's what our sweet nursery looks like now! What a difference!!! And that room is definetly more peaceful now. I'm still not sure where in the world we put all that stuff that used to be in there. But God provided. We are ready!!!

I Don't See It....

Well maybe alittle.

At the doc's office today, I was told, once again, how much I look like America Ferrera. Better known as Ugly Betty. Of course they don't mean the ugly part though. I've have had at least 10 people tell me that in the recent months. What do you think?

The Bible and The President

What an election year! This is an election where people are holding tightly to whom they are going to vote for and why they're going to vote for them. Everyone has different reasons for choosing who they're voting for. Some are voting based on morals and values, some on the economy, and some on the war and foreign policy. Though I'm not an undecided voter, I find that I get anxious thinking if I'm making the right decision and whether the things that are important to me in whom I vote are really the important things. The fear and the anxiousness get to me and I begin to think the world is going to potentially fall apart based on who the next president is. I know that God is sovereign and He's already there but it's so easy to forget that in the here and now and in today's issues. Here are some comforting thoughts from God's word.
Isaiah 44:28-45:3
It is I who says of Cyrus, 'He is My shepherd! And he will perform all
My desire ' And he declares of Jerusalem, 'She will be built,' And of the temple, 'Your foundation will be laid.'" Thus says the LORD to Cyrus His anointed, Whom I have taken by the right hand,To subdue nations before him And to loose the loins of kings; To open doors before him so that gates will not be shut: I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden wealth of secret places,So that you may know that it is I,The LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name. I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden wealth of secret places, So that you may know that it is I, The LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name.
Cyrus was called by name by God at least 150 years before he was even born and yet look at the vision God had for King Cyrus and for Jerusalem. If you cross reference and look at Cyrus' life, he did not know the Lord. He was a heathen and a pagan, and yet God called him by name. And if you read what Cyrus did in Jerusalem for the rebuilding of the temple, he does exactly what God says and declares that it was God who moved in him to call people back to Jerusalem and rebuild the temple. (By the way, at the time of this prophecy, Jerusalem and the temple were just fine and dandy.) This then, is encouraging in light of the following verse:

Chronicles 29:11
Everything in the heavens and earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your
kingdom. We adore you as being in control of everything. Riches and honor come
from you alone, and you are the Ruler of all mankind; your hand controls power
and might, and it is at your discretion that men are made great and
given strength.

What an encouragement in these times. God is the one who "subdues nations" and is able to "loose the loins of kings". And He is the one that gives men greatness and strength. This doesn't mean only with the "good guys", like King David and Ronald Reagan, but also not "good guys", Cyrus the pagan and Hitler. It's soooo important to remember that God will choose the next president and will "have His way with him". And the most encouraging of all....WE WILL HAVE THE VICTORY!
Daniel 7:27
Then the sovereignty, the dominion and the greatness of all the kingdoms
under the whole heaven will be given to the people of the saints of the Highest
One; His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all the dominions will
serve and obey Him.'

No matter how bad things get with the economy or the environment or the war or ANYTHING, Christ will reign and we will be reigning with Him! Hallelujah!!!
