Fun-Filled Weekend!

This weekend was great! It started off with Friday night going with Trent and Jean Cormier (friends from church) to Frankie's Fun Park. It's like a Dave & Busters. We each got a giftcard as a wedding gift from our Sunday School class. we played some mini golf. Trent won but I badly lost. Oh well, it was still fun. The best part was when Trent scored 30,000 points playing skee-ball. The tickets started coming out and about 5 minutes later, they were still coming. IT was really funny and unexpected. He ended up with over 600 tickets and we're convinced that if the machine hadn't run out of tickets, he would've gotten more. The were generous to share the wealth and we each get a coffee mug to commemorate the night. Unfortunately, we didn't take the camera so we don't have pictures of our fun night.
Then Saturday we traveled to Greenvile for a wedding shower for our friends, Rob and Sara. They get married in just under 4 weeks.

We had a nice time talking about weddings and hanging out with Rob's family.

This is his "Oma" (grandma) She is the coolest grandma ever! She remembered us from last year when we met her and is so affectionate. She is german, I mean, really german with an accent and everything. She downed 3 straight jeiger (said yager) shots like water and kept asking for someone to join her for more. We all only had the one to toast to Rob and Sarah.

Luke and Rob have been friends for years and roomed together in college. Rob was a groomsman for Luke and Luke will be best man for Rob. Full circle for all of us. Rob and I have always had a love/hate relationship, but nowadays, mostly love. He's been there for me in times when I had no where else to go. Rob was sometimes the very first person I called whenever I was in a jam. We're so happy that he's getting married and Sarah is absolutely perfect for him!

Happy First Anniversary Mehaffies!!!

This is us September 23, 2006:

And this is us September 23, 2007, one year later:

It's hard to believe it's already been a year. It has gone by super fast. Luke took me to the Biltmore Estate. Neither of us had ever been before and we had a blast!! We spent the whole day at the house, did some wine tasting, watched some old-fashioned clogging, ate ice cream and just spent time together. We had a special time in the evening where we read our vows to each other again, sang our wedding hymns together, and spent some time in prayer for the next year and all the years to come. It was really special. We also got in some hiking at Craggy Dome on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It's soooo beautiful and high up. At the top of Craggy dome, we got a 360 view of the mountains and it was gorgeous. God blessed us with a beautiful weekend with blue skies, cool mountain breezes and fluffy white clouds. We also got to go down into some caves and that was fun too. Overall, it was a great weekend. Luke and I grew closer in our hearts and God gave us a renewed excitement for spending 2 years, 10 years, 50 years, and eternity together! Here are some more pics from our weekend!

Missy Takes a Bath!

I know I know, you all think we're obsessed with our dog. But hey, we don't have a baby yet so until then, MissyGirl it will be. She hates taking baths.

Doesn't she look pathetic. Awww!
"I hate baths, boohoo."
She's actually quite spotted, when she's wet.
"Don't look at me, I'm naked"
The After-Bath is funnier. Check out the video Some if it's hard to see but...she loves to run around the house in circle rubbing her face on the carpet, to get that clean smell off of her. She's so crazy!

We call this one... So Happy MissyGirl!

Look at that doggy smile!!
