We leave Monday evening at 6:35pm for our Red Eye to London!!!!!! Hopefully there won't be a good looking yet psycotic man sitting next to me threatening to kill my dad unless I change the hotel room of some important politician. We are stoked but as is typical of procrastinators such as Luke and I, we have not even begun to pack. In fact, I still have about 4 loads of laundry to do. Good thing my mom came over last night which encouraged me to clean up. One less thing to do and we can come home to a clean home!
Anywho! We are excited and Christine (Luke's sister), who lives over there, has got our itinerary all planned out and it sounds like super fun. We are also spending two days, Tues. and Wed. in PARIS!!!! WooHoo!!!!
We've got some busy times in the next few days, but what a chance of a life time. I love Luke sooooo much and we were great together in these types of situations. Please pray for our travels and excitement.
Luke, Rockie, Isaac, Simon, Baby Three and Missy Mehaffie!!! Loving God and loving eachother.
Our little family and we're so happy together!

We've Made It!!!
Friday the 23rd was our 6th monthiversay! We've made it 6 months and it has been nothing but fun. And today is the one year anniversary of our engagement. I don't think Luke planned it this way but all our special dates are in a row: married on the 23rd, started dating on the 24th, and engaged on the 25th! Every month is fun to remember and Luke's not as bad as I though it would be at remembering. It's all the little one's that neither of use can remember, first date, first kiss, first held hands, that kind of stuff. I have the best husband in the world!!!
Yesterday we went to Greensboro/ High Point for Zhayla's (my neice) birthday party. It was at McDonald's and it was lots of fun! She was a little princess and she was having a great time. She got a whole lot of really neat presents. All the kids were screaming like crazy but I'm used to it since I work with kids everyday. Luke and I love those kids and we treasure any time we get to spend with them!

Dinner with the other Mrs. Mehaffie
I love having dinner at the Sr. Mehaffie's. And it's so fun when Daniel comes home and brings a college clan. It reminds me of when I was in college and always knew I had a home to come to at the Mehaffie's. Who knew I would end up marrying into the family so many years later. So, don't know what we're eating but I know it will be good.

Praises!
Rockie's Favorite Psalm:
The LORD is my light and my salvation-
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?
When evil men advance against me
When evil men advance against me
to devour my flesh,
when my enemies and my foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.
Though an army besiege me,
Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then will I be confident.
One thing I ask of the LORD,
this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.
For in the day of trouble
For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle
and set me high upon a rock.
Then my head will be exalted
Then my head will be exalted
above the enemies who surround me;
at his tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to the LORD.
Hear my voice when I call, O LORD;
be merciful to me and answer me.
My heart says of you, "Seek his face!"
My heart says of you, "Seek his face!"
Your face, LORD, I will seek.
Do not hide your face from me,
Do not hide your face from me,
do not turn your servant away in anger;
you have been my helper.
Do not reject me or forsake me,
O God my Savior.
Though my father and mother forsake me,
Though my father and mother forsake me,
the LORD will receive me.
Teach me your way, O LORD;
Teach me your way, O LORD;
lead me in a straight path
because of my oppressors.
Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,
Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,
for false witnesses rise up against me,
breathing out violence.
I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the LORD
in the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the LORD.
Alot of you know what a journey I have had through out college and even since then. This Psalm has held me steady since the first time I heard it about 7 years ago. It was the same for me today. It gives me strength and courage and reminds me constantly that earthly people, will always forsake me. Even if they are the person I should be able to count on the most, I will be forsaken and only the Lord will receive me for eternity. Praise the Lord for His provision and for always keeping me safe in His dwelling, even when I was a young child , He sheltered me from so many things so that I may one day be His child. Praises!!!!

What a Treat!!!
Church was AWESOME today!!! We had Keith & Kristyn Getty lead worship today. You're probably thinking, who in the world are they. Keith co-wrote the powerful hymn "In Christ Alone". The choir and the orchestra sounded great and it was so powerful. That hymn is amazing in it of itself but to have them there along with the beautiful background was amazing. They also wrote the Power of the cross. These two hymns are two of my favorite most worshipful hymns and we sang them both led by the people who wrote them! What a treat indeed!! Then Pastor Horner gave a great sermon about Ezra from his series "Legends of Loyalty". He talked about how Ezra was a man who set his heart upon the study of the Word. And when the time came for Ezra's faith to be tested, and he had to confront the people with their sin, Ezra was prepared because of his deep resevoir of God's word. Service today was powerful and we left in deeper fellowship with Christ. We "walked down that mountain with our hearts held high!"

Oh Well!
State didn't win but we all give them props for getting as far as they did. We had a great time watching the final game here in our home with Luke's parents. Sharon's (my mother-in-law) brithday was on March 9th. She wasn't in town that day so Luke and I had dinner for her on Tuesday. It was alot of fun. She bought us cake pans and a cake stand for a bridal shower so I made her a brithday cake. It was called Candy Bar Cake. It was four layers of Devil's Food cake with vanilla icing and cut up candy between each layer. Luke andI used milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and Andes between each layer. Then on top you stick milk chocolate and Andes squares along the top. It was yummy. The funniest part was the candles. Luke and I bought them because they were only .82 cents. We lit them and the flames were SO HIGH. I walked with the cake to the side because I didn't want my hair to singe off. Then, Mute blew them out and the house was filled with smoke, FROM THE CANDLES. Then, little did we know that they were trick candles so they kept relighting. What an adventure! It was a good laugh but we had to open everything to make sure the smoke alarm didn't go off from the birthday candles! Oh well, here ar ethe pics!!!

A Night Apart
Tonight I had a training for my Infant Toddler Certification so Luke took an apportunity to take the night for the boys. He went out to see The Good Shepherd with Drew. Being newlyweds, it's easy to be attached at the hip which I think Luke and I are a little so it's good that we had a night to be apart, though, I wish I didn't have to be at a training while Luke was at a movie.
Two things I learned at the training that are actually applicable to my life:
1. Things are more easily stored in our memory when they carry an emotional attachment to it. That's why it's hard to memorize phone #'s that you don't use often but easy to remember the exact date that you had your first kiss (ladies!). So, concerning scripture memory, it may be faster and easier to memorize verses if we attach an emotional attachment/application to it, and maybe it'll will stick longer in our heads rather than just repeating it over and over again. Just try it and see if it works.
2. "Self-Esteem". What it is anyway?! We talked alot about it today. It got me thinking about my own children's self-esteem. Will I be the parent that says, "you can do it! you're so great! you can do anything!!!! or will I be the parent that says, "God is so good, and through His goodness, you can trust Him for great things in your life!! God's goodness and power will give you courage to do it!! ---I think that latter.
Also, I'm working on getting either a link to our wedding pictures, or actually posting an album of our wedding pictures. Just so you know!! They're only 6 months late. Wow, we've been married 6 months!!!!
